Privacy Policy
Short version: the temper.codes website sets no cookies, runs no analytics or trackers, and has no accounts, logins, or forms. It collects essentially nothing about you beyond the standard server and CDN logs any website generates — and the content of an email if you choose to write to us.

01 Scope
This covers the website.
The Temper software is self-hosted in your own cluster and is out of scope here — see Section 6.
This Privacy Policy explains how Byte-Lab (“Byte-Lab,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the temper.codes website (the “Site”) and with email you send to our published addresses. It does not cover the Temper software, which you run yourself; that distinction matters and is explained in Section 6.
02 What we don't collect
No cookies. No tracking.
The Site is a static, self-contained website. Specifically, it:
- sets no cookies and uses no local or session storage to identify you;
- runs no analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or advertising scripts;
- loads no third-party fonts, scripts, or stylesheets — every asset is served from the Site itself, so your browser makes no requests to external hosts as a result of visiting;
- has no user accounts, logins, comment sections, or web forms; and
- does not build advertising or behavioral profiles about you.
03 What is collected
Server logs, and email you send.
Standard hosting/CDN logs. The Site is served through Cloudflare. Like any web host or content-delivery network, Cloudflare automatically processes standard request data to deliver pages and protect the Site against abuse — typically including your IP address, the requested URL, timestamp, referring page, and user-agent string. This processing is performed by Cloudflare as our hosting/CDN provider under its own terms and privacy commitments. We use it only to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site, and we do not use it to identify or profile individual visitors.
Email you choose to send. The Site’s only contact mechanism is a set of
mailto: links (for example,
sales@temper.codes and
security@temper.codes).
If you email us, we receive whatever you include — your email address, name, message
content, and any attachments — and we use it to respond to and manage your inquiry.
04 How we use it & who sees it
To answer you — not to sell you.
Purposes. We use hosting/CDN log data to operate, secure, and debug the Site, and we use email content to respond to your message, provide information you request, and keep a record of our correspondence. Where we rely on legal bases under the GDPR, they are our legitimate interests in running and securing the Site and in responding to inquiries, and, where applicable, taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
No sale or sharing for advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not disclose it to third parties except to service providers who help us operate the Site and email (for example, our hosting/CDN provider and our email provider), or where required by law or to protect our rights.
Retention. Hosting/CDN logs are retained for our provider’s standard period and then rotated out. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping, unless you ask us to delete it and we have no overriding obligation to retain it.
05 Your rights
Access, correction, deletion — by email.
Because there are no accounts, the practical way to exercise any right is simply to email us; there is no dashboard to log into.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Since we hold little more than any email you sent us, exercising these rights is straightforward: email sales@temper.codes with your request. We will verify and respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
06 The software is self-hosted
Your workloads never reach us.
The Temper software runs entirely inside your Kubernetes cluster. It makes no external calls to Byte-Lab, requires no account, and sends us no telemetry. Your cluster data, pod metadata, metrics, traces, and workloads stay in your environment and are never transmitted to or processed by us through the software. This Privacy Policy therefore concerns only the website and email; it does not describe any processing of your operational data, because the software performs none on our behalf. For the paid tiers, data handling is addressed in the applicable commercial agreement, which reflects the same self-hosted, no-data-egress design.
07 Transfers, children, changes
A few more plain facts.
International transfers. Our hosting/CDN and email providers may process request and message data in countries other than yours. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses) provided by those providers.
Children. The Site is a business-to-business informational site and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes. We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always posted here with its “Last updated” date; material changes take effect when posted.
